Since there are only 8 private universities in Texas, each with a different religious affiliation, I decided to list them all so that you can see the comparisons between all 8 on several factors regarding cost of tuition, housing, crime rates on campus, etc. They are ranked most expensive to least expensive regarding tuition, including housing costs. Data collected via National Center for Education Statistics and each universities’ website. Each school’s data statistics involve the entire school as a whole and not specifically the specs on the business management degrees the schools offer.

 Southern Methodist University

The SMU Cox School of Business delivers a strong curriculum and is home to world-class professors inside and outside the classroom.

Southern Methodist University Statistics:

Location: Dallas, Tx

Religious Affiliation: Methodist

Student Demographics: 10, 893 students enrolled with 6,249 being undergraduates … 51% Female, 49% female

Student to Faculty Ratio: 11 to 1

Campus Life: 180 student organizations on campus. Impressive dining choices including Pizza Hut Express, Subway and Starbucks on campus. Recreational activities that include volleyball courts, tennis courts, an indoor and outdoor pool, weight rooms in a 5000 sq ft facility.

Rice University

The Jones School of Business offers an undergraduate business minor and offers students the ability to enhance their major fields of study with the basic fundamentals of business. There are six courses the make up the undergraduate business minor. They include: business communications, financial accounting, financial management, leading people in organizations, marketing, and strategic management.

Baylor University

According to Baylor’s website, “The Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, has five full-time master’s programs, and offers advanced degrees in information systems, accountancy, taxation, and economics in addition to its M.B.A. program.”

Location: San Antonio, TX

Acceptance Rate: 61%

Religious Affiliation: Presbyterian

Student Demographics: 2,458 enrolled students with 2,286 being undergraduates,

Campus Life: Close to campus there are popular Trinity hangouts that include Bombay Bicycle Club, Taco Taco Cafe (there’s even one on campus!), the original Taco Cabana, Tycoon Flats, and Main Street Pizza,  along with many selections within The Commons Food Court. Trinity also has 18 intercollegiate teams, 9 men’s and 9 women’s.

Texas Christian University

The Neeley School is fully accredited by the AACSB and is one of the oldest business schools. The Bachelor of Business Administration includes majors in Accounting, Business Information Systems, Entrepreneurial Management, Finance, Finance with Real Estate Concentration, Marketing and Supply Chain and Value Chain Management.

St. Edwards University
